Alexander Hornung is the Chief Sales and Growth Officer of SurFunction GmbH. He has more than 15 years of experience in electrical connection technology, R&D, technology scouting, product management, and strategic business development. Prior to joining SurFunction, his roles included Global Technology Manager at Stäubli Electrical Connectors, where he focused on technology roadmapping, open innovation, and future-oriented topics regarding electrical connectors. Furthermore, he has been active in industry associations, standardization committees, and technical bodies, including those within the environment of ZVEI and DKE, and served as the head of the “Product Carbon Footprint Connectors” working group. His technical roots lie in research on connectors, electrical contacts, and hot-plugging at the Technical University of Ilmenau. His profile is further complemented by an international business and strategy background from Aalto University in Helsinki.
