Bernhard Mund

After completing his apprenticeship as a radio and television technician, Bernhard Mund studied communications and microprocessor engineering at FH Gießen‑Friedberg. Since 1985 he has been employed by bda connectivity GmbH in Asslar, among other roles as Head of Development in the field of communication cables. He is currently responsible for EMC measurement technology and standardization.
Furthermore, Bernhard Mund has been active for over 40 years in national and international standardization, for example as chair of the national committee UK 412.3 (Coaxial Cables) and as secretary of IEC SC 46A and CENELEC SC 46XA (Coaxial Cables). His further standardization activities include, since 1995, participation in IEC TC 46/WG 5 (shielding effectiveness of cables and components) and IEC TC 46/WG 9 (cable assemblies).
Bernhard Mund is the author of numerous publications in the fields of communication cables and EMC measurement technology. In January 2026 he was awarded the CENELEC Technical Board Officers Award.
