Dominik Maihöfner
Head of Open Direct Current Alliance - ZVEI e.V.

Dominik Maihöfner is the Head of the Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA) working group at ZVEI e. V. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic and operational management of an international industry alliance focusing on the development, standardization, and market launch of direct current (DC) technologies. He coordinates a global network of industry, research, and political stakeholders, driving the establishment of common positions and technical specifications.
Previously, he served as Senior Research Manager at the ZVEI Research Association for Electrical Engineering, where he designed and led national and international research projects in the areas of energy efficiency, digitalization, and AI. His work focused on managing industrial consortia, stakeholder management, and the structured implementation of complex innovation projects.
He began his professional career as a research associate at the Technical University of Darmstadt, specializing in electrical power supply, grid transformation, and the system integration of renewable energies. His research particularly focused on grid planning, energy storage, and sector-coupled energy systems.
With over ten years of experience in energy technology, Dominik Maihöfner combines in-depth technical expertise with strategic project management and international networking. His primary focus is on the advancement of sustainable energy infrastructures, especially in the field of modern DC systems.
