Dr. Helmut Katzier

Dr. Helmut Katzier studied communications engineering at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and theoretical electrical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. He then worked for five years as a research assistant at the Chair of Theoretical Electrical Engineering there. After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Katzier worked at Siemens AG in the Public Grids division. From July 1, 2006, to February 29, 2012, he was an employee of TietoEnator Deutschland GmbH and Tieto Embedded Systems GmbH. Since March 1, 2012, he has been self-employed in the fields of development, consulting, and training. His diverse areas of expertise include packaging and interconnection technology, with a particular focus on printed circuit boards, connectors, and high-speed transmission technology. At the Esslingen Technical Academy, he leads seminars on connector technology, printed circuit board technology, cables and wires, high-speed design of electronic assemblies and systems, and EMC-compliant device and system design. He is also a lecturer in the seminar on the design of high-frequency circuits.
