Sönke Sachs studied physics at the University of Würzburg and the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA), earning his PhD in surface physics with a focus on organic semiconductor contacts.

He began his professional career in 2011 at TE Connectivity in the advanced development of electrical connectors. Today, he works as a Senior Principal Engineer in the Automotive Terminals and Connectors division.

His areas of expertise include the investigation of fundamental contact physics phenomena, material and process development for functional coatings, and the design of specialized measurement equipment.
